  • The god of questing, of passion and summer, of free spirits, exploration, and travel, Nalageos was an eccentric and tenacious deity who once ruled the nation of Atvoria. He is most notable for the unusual societal structure his empire created, beginning in prehistory with his First Company.  This was a party Nalageos assembled to go on the Great Quest, an unknown and apparently doomed crusade that he repeated across the six Cycles leading up to his departure in the Second Calling. The positions of each Company mirrored those of the First, recreated each time with new members from the various parts of society: the Judge, the Ward, the Chemic, the Poacher, the Lover, the Farrier, the Gardener, the Scribe, the Manslayer, the Shipwright, the Minstrel, the Wretch, and the Gambler. None knew where they would be going when he selected them, except that they would never return. The bells of the empire would ring their valiant departure alongside the God of Passion, and then unknown years later the deity would return, alone and excited to rebuild the Company and adventure again. Nalageos never seemed to concern himself with alliances, or even the other gods and their lands; he spent little time in his own empire as it was. His eternal focus remained upon his Quest, and his sworn enemy. When he departed, the roles of the Company became like castes in society, dividing the responsibilities of the nation among themselves and constantly fighting for power.
