  • The city-state of Nandar serves as the borderland between the Thousand Vales region of Aloreh and the Ar-Selukk desert. The rolling grasslands are a beautiful yellow color for most of the year, and a few thorny trees dot the landscape. Most tribes here are nomadic, with cultures heavily centered around equine beasts of burden brought in from Aloreh millennia ago. The capital city is one of the few permanent settlements, though most buildings are still wooden framework structures draped in colorful hides. The ruling tribe is one of the most ancient in the desert, but is ethnically more similar to the Alor than any from the west. Some say the region once held the capital of Tamat Olrun, though the nature of its downfall makes this claim almost impossible to verify. Nandar trades mostly with bordering Loghec settlements who have access to the surface, given that the Thousand Vales are largely devoid of civilization if the horsemen themselves are overlooked. Chasing the seasons, the city also often plays host to the similarly nomadic worshipers of Baphus, who travel from the east to restock on supplies.
