  • “There was a cautious hope, that the Tamat-Olrun may have treated with us and that peace could be found. But the eyes of my father were Silver behind his mask, reflecting the gaze of the Watcher on the wall. I speak often now with the night, asking what may have been, had the Font flown as calmly then as now.”
    - Ymala nyr-Lantheis

The daughter of Beylant the Wanderer, Ymala nyr-Lantheis is most notable for having led what remained of the Rannek after their war with Tamat Olrun. As she fled the burning capital city alongside her mother, she collected as many who still lived as she could, helping them to safety. Once the smoke was distant on the horizon, she led them south to the shore, where they camped among the rocks for the night. When the sun rose the next morning, her mother was not among them, and all silently knew that she had allowed the cliffs to take her life. Ymala chose to start a new life for her people at the sea's edge, using the natural caves worn by salt and grit as their home. The decades leading up to her death were spent carving a memorial to Rannek-zur-Ranne'eth, deep in the caverns where she would eventually come to rest. Ymala was one of the few who understood what the god Sav-Synav had done to the two peoples, and in time came to forgive the Watcher for what he had done to her family. When she did finally pass, her remaining people dispersed among the other tribes in the region, leaving the Rannek a distant memory.
